...MANIFESTATION, WILLINGNESS, AND BELIEF….
Several years ago I found myself in a financial position where need seemed to far outpace earning and I was feeling desperate to find more income. For days I worried and struggled to find a solution as a deadline to pay certain bills came nearer. I was already holding down a full time position that took all my energy and focus so I couldn’t even go out and quickly find another job.
One day I just gave up. I was home sick from work and decided to take a nap. Before going to sleep I said, “Look, God, I have thought about this from every angle and I am worn out. There is no solution here to my financial problem. So, here, I’m giving this to You. Solve it!” Then I went to sleep.
When I woke up from that nap I felt peaceful for the first time in many days and I had a niggling of a thought, like an intuitive nudge, that I should ask a certain person for a loan. I had never thought of this person before, even though he was in my life almost every day.
I followed through on that idea and he was more than happy to loan me the money. We made the agreement; my problem was solved for the immediate need, and I had time then to make some changes that were in how I was using my income.
This happened long before I found what I now refer to in my work as “The Prayer of Quantum Consciousness.” It is five words that have the power to shift thinking, to heal relationships and situations, to solve problems and challenges, to illumine the mind with clarity, and to bring a profound sense of peace. They can do all this because they invite a letting go and a release of worry and stress.
· They help one see beyond the limits of what is presently perceived as “fact”
· They let one see beyond any pre-conceived ideas, beliefs, opinions, biases, prejudices and judgments.
· They invite one to see a situation from all possible vantage points.
When scientists and researches make a breakthrough to some discovery, it is often after they have just walked away from their project and RELAXED the mind.
They walk away from a sense of urgency.
I’d like to explore this a little further before I actually share the words of the prayer with you.
In his book, The Divine Matrix, Gregg Braden says:
”MANISFESTATION BEGINS WITH THE WILLINGNESS TO MAKE ROOM IN OUR BELIEFS FOR SOMETHING THAT SUPPOSEDLY DOESN’T EXIT.”
The keys words here are
MANIFESTATION, WILLINGNESS, AND BELIEF
If I want to manifest or bring forth something new in my life – a more loving and supportive relationship, a career advancement, higher income, a financial windfall, healing in the family – anything, I have to be WILLING to suspend old beliefs that may be limiting me, or as Gregg Braden put it – “make room in my beliefs”.
How do we even come to this kind of willingness when we feel overwhelmed or paralyzed in worry and fear, or when we feel awash in a sea of doubt about our own ability to change anything in our lives.
We give it all over to a Higher Power, to inner wisdom, to God Within, to Holy Spirit, whatever we hold as something wiser than ourselves.
The five words I share with you now are from A Course In Miracles. You do not have to ascribe to the teachings of this Course for these words to have a miraculous effect in your life. You simply need to be WILLING to have a shift in thinking.
The five words are:
It is in the simplicity of these words and in the gentle release into greater wisdom they invite that room is made in our mind to receive a new answer.
This is a prayer of power, not of supplication.
It is a prayer of conscious choice, not of victim hood.
These words calm us down, they acknowledge that there is something we are not yet seeing, and allow room for a NEW THOUGHT, new perspective to enter.
Answers often come more easily when we invite the mind to dream and play than when we press it into urgent service, demanding something immediately.
This prayer, HELP ME SEE THIS DIFFERENTLY, asks us to suspend our judgment of what we think is the best answer for us. The truth is that, in any situation on this planet, by ourselves, we simply cannot know enough – we only see what we are ready to see and that is usually very limited.
David Hawkins in POWER VS. FORCE puts it this way:
“What we think is ‘good’ or ‘bad’ for us is merely subjective; what the universe ‘thinks’ about it may be something else entirely…..The facts may be quite different from what you currently believe.”
It is this willingness to see beyond all limitation that allows a higher vision to provide our answers. In the Course we hear it as ‘seeing with the eyes of Christ’ – the eyes of Love.
I have found this prayer to be especially effective when dealing with difficult people. I’m sure we have all experienced times when a person has angered us or we feel hurt or in contention with them, and we can sense our mind shutting down! Nothing opens our mind to see a possible solution and to open a healing pathway with this person as quickly as a simple WILLINGNESS to see him or her in a new light.
With willingness TRUTH can enter into our reasoning.
David Hawkins said: “Facts are accumulated by effort, but truth reveals itself effortlessly.”
Now the reason I like to refer to these five words as a PRAYER OF QUANTUM CONSCIOUSNESS, is because AT THE QUANTUM LEVEL, DIFFERENT ALTERNATIVES CAN COEXIST. And at the QUANTUM LEVEL THOSE ALTERNATIVES CAN BE KNOWN BY ANYONE, ANYWHERE.
Sometimes it can seem very hard to open our heart to life, to open our sense of trust in a willingness to let life touch us and allow ourselves to reach beyond safe boundaries. Yet learning to open our heart is an enormous part of spiritual growth and psychological maturity.
To remain behind the walls of fearful or immature defensiveness is to completely limit our potential for intimacy, success, and expanding happiness.
The heart opens the instant we are willing for it to be open. Just a little willingness, given to the Divine within us, and miracles begin to unfold. Look at the following words from author and spiritual teacher, Paul Ferrini, and see if you can identify where you are in the process.
The heart opens when we accept ourselves with all of our contradictions, all our liabilities, all our struggles. The heart opens when we accept another person with all their trials and tribulations. The heart opens when we offer love simply, as we would to a hurt child. And it opens when the hurt child within reaches out for the love that is offered to her.
There is nothing mysterious about what opens the heart. Acceptance does.
There is nothing mysterious about what closes the heart. Judgment does.
To open you heart, you must be willing to be present with whatever is happening here and now. You just need “to be.”
Be with yourself. Be with others. Be with God. It is enough.
How to take a huge step forward, anytime you need one.
The Quantum Leap
We are living in a glorious time of super-accelerated changed on the earth. It is visible from the sciences and technology to medicine and the healing arts. It is even more apparent in the global use of the internet, whereby we have almost instantaneous connection to breakthrough knowledge in any field.
What this acceleration means for us individually is that we are no longer limited to just small steps or extended planning periods when it comes to manifesting our dreams and our hearts desires. We could choose, instead, to take a quantum leap.
Quick Steps to a Quantum Leap
Above all else, if you truly want to take a quantum leap forward in life, remember to daily forgive yourself and others. Forgiveness can quickly renew your passion and creativity. As you let go of the past, you make room for amazing good.
Spiritual discernment is a key element in life design that is often overlooked or minimized. Yet we are more than mere intellect. We are spiritual beings who have direct access to limitless wisdom. That wisdom can be put to great use in very practical ways as we are dreaming our lives and giving form to the desires of our hearts.
To discern is to recognize clearly. Put very simply, discernment is the ability to make good judgments. In the design of an extraordinary life - one beyond anything we have yet experienced - we need more than good judgment; we need the keenest possible insight into our nature, purpose, wants, and life goals.
Spiritual discernment has nothing to do with religion in this context and everything to do with the alignment of mind and soul. Webster’s Dictionary says that the soul can be defined as “the spiritual part of a person.” It is a vital or essential force within us that informs our life. From this perspective, spiritual discernment is the active joining of the eternal Self with our human understanding.
HOW SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT GUIDES OUR CHOICES
There is nothing mysterious about spiritual discernment. It is, in fact, a very natural process to those who take the time to connect with themselves at a deeper level of consciousness. What can be gained from this inner vision is quite remarkable. Here are a few examples:
A FORMULA FOR SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT
Learn to put the experience of calm back into your life. Learn the difference between sanity and foolishness when it comes to the hours you work, the company you keep, the habits you perpetuate, and the things you tolerate.
A life that is perpetually filled with unresolved stress is a whirlwind of drama. A life that is lived from inner peace brings calm to any stormy situation and restores balance for clear thinking.
KNOW YOURSELF INTIMATELY
Know what nurtures you, what energizes you, and what totally fills your cup to overflowing. Know too that which depletes and drains you, that which deflates you and makes you feel small. Be aware of the effect that other people have upon you. Take measures to minimize exposure to negative or abusive people and to maximize the time you spend with people who expand your world.
If you are drawn to the quiet of the mountains or the peacefulness of the woods, if you are passionate about beauty and art or health and fitness, if you continually feel a pull into certain teachings, philosophies, or religions practices, know that these are all ways in which your soul is making contact with you and encouraging your participation. What is natural to you will be the most nurturing.
I have always loved this quote from Myrtle Fillmore, the Co-Founder of the Unity Movement:
“A little period of quiet and rest each day
is your opportunity to establish yourself at the center of your being,
the one place where the supply of life and substance is inexhaustible.”
A daily time of quiet is not only deeply renewing, it also opens the mind to receive a higher level of clarity. Quiet sweeps away disturbing images and troubling thoughts, making room for true discernment.
