"You are altogether irreplaceable in the Mind of God.
No one else can fill your part in it,
and while you leave your part of it empty
your eternal place merely waits for your return."
~ A Course In Miracles ~
Each and every one of us is irreplaceable in the Mind of God and our unique part in this world can only be filled by us. There is, perhaps, no more beautiful spiritual practice than to discover and live out one's holy purpose for being. In fact, the wise and purposeful use of our life force is the most deeply satisfying, richly rewarding and worthy pursuit of our human existence.
This amazing quote from A Course In Miracles says that each of us has been entrusted with a special role, function and responsibility in creation, and all of creation depends upon us to play that unique part.
A thirsty, hungry, confused and suffering world waits for each of us, as the English poet John Keats once said,
"To enshrine within ourselves the presence of God
[and] to collaborate in making it available ...
We're called to be not just the heirs,
but collaborators or co-creators or co-healers ...
enabling the whole of humanity to participate."
Purpose is part of our spiritual DNA. When expressed through our human personality, it glows, and it radiates outward from us to join with the purpose of others in a harmony of action that is for the good of all.
Caroline Myss put it this way:
"Trusting in the unseen, ineffable spiritual purpose behind
our soul's journey generates a grace that illuminates the world."
This is one of the main indicators that you are living your soul's purpose: people are just naturally drawn to you and collaborate with you and support you in actions that come from your soul.
Outside my front door and my home office window the gifts of a flower garden bless my days with endless joy. The flowering plants and art objects I have placed there are intentionally set to soothe and surprise anyone who comes to my front door and everyone who passes by the house. In this small way, providing a burst of visual delights, I make a difference in my neighborhood and in the lives of those I am honored to greet and serve in my home.
Just as this intentional spot of beauty reaches out to bless the lives of unsuspecting passers-by, so too can the consciousness of peace within each one of us bring calm into the lives of those we interact with on a daily basis.
Peace in one of us brings peace to all of us. This is a promise in A Course In Miracles and something that is being scientifically studied and proven in the work of organizations such as the Institute of HeartMath (www.heartmath.org) and The Global Coherence Initiative (www.glcoherence.org).
When we are calm and peaceful, we not only change the vibrational patterns within our own body, we radiate the magnetism of our peacefulness to others too. In altering the energy within and around ourselves, we send out a signal that invites resonance with everyone else on the planet.
Does this sound too simple? Well it is often the things that are most simple which the reasoning mind likes to dismiss in favor of something complicated and unachievable.
I have personally witnessed the immediate and dramatic effects of the presence of peace upon those who are in stress or pain. I have watched as shoulders relax and faces soften when words of peace and sincere caring are spoken. Even the silence of a peaceful person changes the atmosphere in a room. The effects are often beyond what can be explained with reason but are never beyond what can be experienced in the heart.
Changing our world, shifting the course of our personal and planetary future, may be as profoundly simple as choosing peace above everything else; to breathe peace, to speak peace, and to act in peace every day.
Planting a garden of peace in our individual hearts is the starting point. Growing a garden of peace across neighborhoods, cities, nations, and continents is the work we are all responsible for.
...MANIFESTATION, WILLINGNESS, AND BELIEF….
Several years ago I found myself in a financial position where need seemed to far outpace earning and I was feeling desperate to find more income. For days I worried and struggled to find a solution as a deadline to pay certain bills came nearer. I was already holding down a full time position that took all my energy and focus so I couldn’t even go out and quickly find another job.
One day I just gave up. I was home sick from work and decided to take a nap. Before going to sleep I said, “Look, God, I have thought about this from every angle and I am worn out. There is no solution here to my financial problem. So, here, I’m giving this to You. Solve it!” Then I went to sleep.
When I woke up from that nap I felt peaceful for the first time in many days and I had a niggling of a thought, like an intuitive nudge, that I should ask a certain person for a loan. I had never thought of this person before, even though he was in my life almost every day.
I followed through on that idea and he was more than happy to loan me the money. We made the agreement; my problem was solved for the immediate need, and I had time then to make some changes that were in how I was using my income.
This happened long before I found what I now refer to in my work as “The Prayer of Quantum Consciousness.” It is five words that have the power to shift thinking, to heal relationships and situations, to solve problems and challenges, to illumine the mind with clarity, and to bring a profound sense of peace. They can do all this because they invite a letting go and a release of worry and stress.
· They help one see beyond the limits of what is presently perceived as “fact”
· They let one see beyond any pre-conceived ideas, beliefs, opinions, biases, prejudices and judgments.
· They invite one to see a situation from all possible vantage points.
When scientists and researches make a breakthrough to some discovery, it is often after they have just walked away from their project and RELAXED the mind.
They walk away from a sense of urgency.
I’d like to explore this a little further before I actually share the words of the prayer with you.
In his book, The Divine Matrix, Gregg Braden says:
”MANISFESTATION BEGINS WITH THE WILLINGNESS TO MAKE ROOM IN OUR BELIEFS FOR SOMETHING THAT SUPPOSEDLY DOESN’T EXIT.”
The keys words here are
MANIFESTATION, WILLINGNESS, AND BELIEF
If I want to manifest or bring forth something new in my life – a more loving and supportive relationship, a career advancement, higher income, a financial windfall, healing in the family – anything, I have to be WILLING to suspend old beliefs that may be limiting me, or as Gregg Braden put it – “make room in my beliefs”.
How do we even come to this kind of willingness when we feel overwhelmed or paralyzed in worry and fear, or when we feel awash in a sea of doubt about our own ability to change anything in our lives.
We give it all over to a Higher Power, to inner wisdom, to God Within, to Holy Spirit, whatever we hold as something wiser than ourselves.
The five words I share with you now are from A Course In Miracles. You do not have to ascribe to the teachings of this Course for these words to have a miraculous effect in your life. You simply need to be WILLING to have a shift in thinking.
The five words are:
It is in the simplicity of these words and in the gentle release into greater wisdom they invite that room is made in our mind to receive a new answer.
This is a prayer of power, not of supplication.
It is a prayer of conscious choice, not of victim hood.
These words calm us down, they acknowledge that there is something we are not yet seeing, and allow room for a NEW THOUGHT, new perspective to enter.
Answers often come more easily when we invite the mind to dream and play than when we press it into urgent service, demanding something immediately.
This prayer, HELP ME SEE THIS DIFFERENTLY, asks us to suspend our judgment of what we think is the best answer for us. The truth is that, in any situation on this planet, by ourselves, we simply cannot know enough – we only see what we are ready to see and that is usually very limited.
David Hawkins in POWER VS. FORCE puts it this way:
“What we think is ‘good’ or ‘bad’ for us is merely subjective; what the universe ‘thinks’ about it may be something else entirely…..The facts may be quite different from what you currently believe.”
It is this willingness to see beyond all limitation that allows a higher vision to provide our answers. In the Course we hear it as ‘seeing with the eyes of Christ’ – the eyes of Love.
I have found this prayer to be especially effective when dealing with difficult people. I’m sure we have all experienced times when a person has angered us or we feel hurt or in contention with them, and we can sense our mind shutting down! Nothing opens our mind to see a possible solution and to open a healing pathway with this person as quickly as a simple WILLINGNESS to see him or her in a new light.
With willingness TRUTH can enter into our reasoning.
David Hawkins said: “Facts are accumulated by effort, but truth reveals itself effortlessly.”
Now the reason I like to refer to these five words as a PRAYER OF QUANTUM CONSCIOUSNESS, is because AT THE QUANTUM LEVEL, DIFFERENT ALTERNATIVES CAN COEXIST. And at the QUANTUM LEVEL THOSE ALTERNATIVES CAN BE KNOWN BY ANYONE, ANYWHERE.
Sometimes it can seem very hard to open our heart to life, to open our sense of trust in a willingness to let life touch us and allow ourselves to reach beyond safe boundaries. Yet learning to open our heart is an enormous part of spiritual growth and psychological maturity.
To remain behind the walls of fearful or immature defensiveness is to completely limit our potential for intimacy, success, and expanding happiness.
The heart opens the instant we are willing for it to be open. Just a little willingness, given to the Divine within us, and miracles begin to unfold. Look at the following words from author and spiritual teacher, Paul Ferrini, and see if you can identify where you are in the process.
The heart opens when we accept ourselves with all of our contradictions, all our liabilities, all our struggles. The heart opens when we accept another person with all their trials and tribulations. The heart opens when we offer love simply, as we would to a hurt child. And it opens when the hurt child within reaches out for the love that is offered to her.
There is nothing mysterious about what opens the heart. Acceptance does.
There is nothing mysterious about what closes the heart. Judgment does.
To open you heart, you must be willing to be present with whatever is happening here and now. You just need “to be.”
Be with yourself. Be with others. Be with God. It is enough.
How to take a huge step forward, anytime you need one.
The Quantum Leap
We are living in a glorious time of super-accelerated changed on the earth. It is visible from the sciences and technology to medicine and the healing arts. It is even more apparent in the global use of the internet, whereby we have almost instantaneous connection to breakthrough knowledge in any field.
What this acceleration means for us individually is that we are no longer limited to just small steps or extended planning periods when it comes to manifesting our dreams and our hearts desires. We could choose, instead, to take a quantum leap.
Quick Steps to a Quantum Leap
Above all else, if you truly want to take a quantum leap forward in life, remember to daily forgive yourself and others. Forgiveness can quickly renew your passion and creativity. As you let go of the past, you make room for amazing good.
Spiritual discernment is a key element in life design that is often overlooked or minimized. Yet we are more than mere intellect. We are spiritual beings who have direct access to limitless wisdom. That wisdom can be put to great use in very practical ways as we are dreaming our lives and giving form to the desires of our hearts.
To discern is to recognize clearly. Put very simply, discernment is the ability to make good judgments. In the design of an extraordinary life - one beyond anything we have yet experienced - we need more than good judgment; we need the keenest possible insight into our nature, purpose, wants, and life goals.
Spiritual discernment has nothing to do with religion in this context and everything to do with the alignment of mind and soul. Webster’s Dictionary says that the soul can be defined as “the spiritual part of a person.” It is a vital or essential force within us that informs our life. From this perspective, spiritual discernment is the active joining of the eternal Self with our human understanding.
HOW SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT GUIDES OUR CHOICES
There is nothing mysterious about spiritual discernment. It is, in fact, a very natural process to those who take the time to connect with themselves at a deeper level of consciousness. What can be gained from this inner vision is quite remarkable. Here are a few examples:
A FORMULA FOR SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT
Learn to put the experience of calm back into your life. Learn the difference between sanity and foolishness when it comes to the hours you work, the company you keep, the habits you perpetuate, and the things you tolerate.
A life that is perpetually filled with unresolved stress is a whirlwind of drama. A life that is lived from inner peace brings calm to any stormy situation and restores balance for clear thinking.
KNOW YOURSELF INTIMATELY
Know what nurtures you, what energizes you, and what totally fills your cup to overflowing. Know too that which depletes and drains you, that which deflates you and makes you feel small. Be aware of the effect that other people have upon you. Take measures to minimize exposure to negative or abusive people and to maximize the time you spend with people who expand your world.
If you are drawn to the quiet of the mountains or the peacefulness of the woods, if you are passionate about beauty and art or health and fitness, if you continually feel a pull into certain teachings, philosophies, or religions practices, know that these are all ways in which your soul is making contact with you and encouraging your participation. What is natural to you will be the most nurturing.
I have always loved this quote from Myrtle Fillmore, the Co-Founder of the Unity Movement:
“A little period of quiet and rest each day
is your opportunity to establish yourself at the center of your being,
the one place where the supply of life and substance is inexhaustible.”
A daily time of quiet is not only deeply renewing, it also opens the mind to receive a higher level of clarity. Quiet sweeps away disturbing images and troubling thoughts, making room for true discernment.
A Course In Miracles says that “Forgiveness is the key to happiness.” If this is true, and it is, then forgiveness is the key to all life happiness, not just some of it. It is the key that unlocks the door to whatever we are longing to manifest. Forgiveness frees our mind to think outside the bounds of our current experience and to reach into a yet unknown realm of possibility.
When we simply let the idea of forgiveness REST upon our current perceived limitations, they are dissolved.
Let forgiveness rest upon everything and anything that has held you back - up until now - from greater success in both your personal and professional life.
Miracles will begin to unfold before you! They must unfold; it is spiritual law that where the light of forgiveness enters, all darkness and limitation is released. The shift that happens in this act of holy release is a miracle in its truest sense. It allows you to feel deeply loved and supported; it allows your to acknowledge yourself as a unique and treasured creation of the Holy Creator.
Say to yourself and to the entire Universe around you,
I let forgiveness rest upon my mind and heart and soul today. I let the healing grace of God lead me to my next steps, my next success. All doors are open before me; the way is clear; the perfect opportunities, resources, and connections are presented to me now.
With forgiveness blessing me, I am free to receive and accept the help I need to move forward. The Spirit of God moves through me and as me in this world; I am a perfect match to the desires of my heart.
Forgive your past.
Forgive your life choices.
Forgive any sense of unworthiness.
Forgive your deepest fears and most secret shame.
Forgive, Forgive, Forgive, and let the perfect happiness that God wills for you manifest today and every day of your life. The key to getting unstuck is in your hands. May you use it often and with great peace!
1. We always have control- not over outer circumstances and situations, not over someone else, and not over the conditions in the world, but over our own anxiety, doubt and fear. And because we always have control over our emotional responses, we have control over our ability to create happiness in our life. 2.Quality of life far outweighs quantity of possessions. No matter how large our bank balance, how big our house, how new or luxurious our car, or how rich and famous we become in our work, outer things alone cannot sustain inner harmony and peace of mind. Real prosperity is sustainable only from the quality of our life, the total sense of well-being and contentment that grows as we make better choices and act from authentic, soul-directed intentions.
3. There is always more good available to us than we will ever be able to use. The world we live in is endlessly abundant; life is ever-renewing, filling in voids, resurrecting itself from tragedies or natural disasters, and pushing onward after every pause. This on-going, ever-flowing quality of life supplies us with unlimited creativity, ideas, resources, and connections, if we will just pay attention.
4. Abundant living is the result of both a mind set and a skill set. The value of a prosperity consciousness cannot be overstated. It sets the tone for how much success we will experience, how wealthy we will allow ourselves to be, and how engaged we will stay in working toward our goals. At the same time, there are many elements of prosperity that require us to take action including earning an income, learning to use and invest our money wisely, and remaining free of debt. We build abundance upon our consciousness through good decisions and right action.
5. Negative emotions drain more than our energy. They also impact the quality of our relationships, our ability to stay focused on our goals, and our general health and sense of well-being. While negative emotions are a part of the experience of being human, they can be processed in a conscious way so their impact upon us is neutralized. This is important because abundance on any level is sustained from positive, uplifting, and life-giving energy.
6. A calm, grateful mind is the most powerful attractor beam for abundance and prosperity. Stay in the gratitude zone and you will always be cared for by this most generous Universe.
I am flexible; I bend and move to change
in the moment.
I am not frozen in time and place.
Related thoughts started flowing:
I am curious.
I am open.
Not one thing in this physical world is permanent and unchanging.
Only that which is of Spirit is eternal and unchanging.
I realized these thoughts are about change and in particular about unexpected change. It can be as seemingly innocuous as having to wait to receive service, or as upsetting as a loved-one in crisis.
Does change excite us or make us nervous?
Does it invite a different perspective or frighten us into staying fixed on a long-held perspective?
Do other people’s opinions and beliefs bother us?
How do we respond to the unexpected?
Does fear rule our thoughts or do we reach for higher thoughts to bring us safely back to a state of peace and inner calm, no matter what is going on around us?
WE ARE EACH IN CHARGE OF OUR THOUGHTS, SO WE ARE IN CHARGE OF OUR STATE OF MIND. Lesson 70 in ACIM
