I am flexible; I bend and move to change in the moment. I am not frozen in time and place. Related thoughts started flowing:
I am curious. I am open. Not one thing in this physical world is permanent and unchanging. Only that which is of Spirit is eternal and unchanging. I realized these thoughts are about change and in particular about unexpected change. It can be as seemingly innocuous as having to wait to receive service, or as upsetting as a loved-one in crisis. Does change excite us or make us nervous? Does it invite a different perspective or frighten us into staying fixed on a long-held perspective? Do other people’s opinions and beliefs bother us? How do we respond to the unexpected? Does fear rule our thoughts or do we reach for higher thoughts to bring us safely back to a state of peace and inner calm, no matter what is going on around us? WE ARE EACH IN CHARGE OF OUR THOUGHTS, SO WE ARE IN CHARGE OF OUR STATE OF MIND. Lesson 70 in ACIM
